Bev

Bev came to Assisted Living at Marian Estates with her husband Jim in 2007. When Jim required more substantial nursing care, he moved to the Reece Healthcare Center and Bev moved to one of our Independent Living cottages within easy walking distance. Bev says it has been a wonderful place and that it's worked out nice to be so close to each other while Jim receives the level of care he needs.

Bev has brightened the Marian Estates campus since the day she arrived, with her favorite activity, "stirring up trouble" (her own words). In 2004 Bev was diagnosed with lung cancer, in 2005, cancer in her adrenal gland was discovered and she underwent chemotherapy. As if that weren't enough, Bev was diagnosed a third time in 2007 with cancer in her aorta and received radiation therapy. As a 3 time cancer survivor, Bev has always maintained a positive attitude and attributes that very trait to her beating cancer. It's "mind over matter," she says, and believes that also kept her from getting sick and losing her hair when receiving treatments.

Bev stays busy with her family and activities like Bridge and the Red Hat Society. She continues to spread her zest for life and sunny disposition to all that come to Marian Estates.

She looks like she enjoys herself at Marian Estates and keeping herself abusy by "stirring up trouble". I am sure she is a real asset to the community
